LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is in the hospital after he was shot with a shotgun at least six times Tuesday night in the Okolona neighborhood.
At about 11 p.m., Louisville Metro police responded to a shooting in the 7300 block of Preston Highway near the Super Stop Food Mart, according to an LMPD news release.
Officers on scene found a man, believed to be in his late 40's, suffering from multiple penetrating injuries. Investigators believe the victim was struck by at least six buckshot pellets from a shotgun.
The man was transported to UofL Hospital where officials say they expect him to survive. LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is investigating.
