LMPD: Man found shot outside gas station in Beechmont neighborhood

Police said the victim arrived at the Circle K at South Third Street and West Woodlawn Avenue around 4 a.m. after he was shot early Saturday morning.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is recovering in the hospital after being shot early Saturday.

LMPD officers responded to a shooting incident at the Circle K at South Third Street and West Woodlawn Avenue around 4 a.m. Saturday in Beechmont.

Officers found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg. Police said the victim was alert and conscious and provided first aid until EMS arrived.

In their preliminary investigation, LMPD stated the man was not shot at the Circle K but was shot in the 600 block of Douglas Park in the Southside neighborhood. The man is believed to have walked from where he was originally shot to the Circle K.

The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
