Police investigating after man shot in Russell neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is in the hospital after he was shot in the leg Sunday evening in west Louisville.

At about 10:30 p.m., Louisville Metro Police responded to a shooting in the 600 block of S. 11th Street, according to an LMPD news release.

Officers on scene found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg and rendered first aid until EMS could arrive.

Once on scene, EMS transported the man to UofL Hospital. Officials believe the man will survive.

LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is handling this investigation. There are currently no known suspects.
