HICKORY, Ky. — Kentucky State Police (KSP) have arrested a mother wanted in Missouri for parental kidnapping.

According to police, 29-year-old Taylor Roldan, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, brought her 3-month-old daughter across state lines despite the child being ordered to the custody of the Missouri Department of Social Services.

On Sunday, the Cape Girardeau Police Department informed KSP that Roldan may have traveled to a residence in Hickory, which is just north of Mayfield in Graves County.

Within 20 minutes, KSP Post 1 troopers went to the home where they found Roldan and the infant.

The child, who was found safe, was then transferred to the care of the Missouri Department of Social Services, police said.

Roldan was arrested and charged as a fugitive wanted by authorities in Missouri for parental kidnapping. She's being held at the Calloway County Jail awaiting extradition back to Missouri.

"KSP troopers worked in collaboration with Missouri law enforcement, Missouri Department of Social Services and Kentucky Department of Community Based Services to ensure the safety of the infant child in this case," KSP said. "Public safety is a team effort and we would like to thank everyone involved who worked together to ensure this child was safe."

KSP said the infant was given a Trooper Teddy bear, a stuffed bear with a KSP shirt and campaign hat, which are given to children involved in traumatic incidents.
