LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) — A Moore High School student was charged with assault Thursday after police said he struck a female student in the face, knocking her unconscious.
Malachi Jefferson Claycomb, 18, was arrested and originally charged with fourth-degree assault at Moore after he knocked a 16-year-old girl unconscious during a fight. The school's security guards and school resource officer were first to arrive at the fight, and EMS later arrived to aid the victim.
Police later changed Claycomb's charge to second-degree assault after a doctor at Norton Children's Hospital said the victim may have possible brain injuries due to a seizure she suffered after the incident.
