Nelson County woman charged with human trafficking and abuse

Katelyn Rogers was arrested after a months long investigation by the Nelson County Sheriff's Office.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A woman was indicted in Nelson County after investigators said she was running an illegal daycare.

Katelyn Rogers, 27, was arrested after a months long investigation by the Nelson County Sheriff's Office.

The office said between February and May of 2024, she was running an un-licensed daycare.

Investigators found evidence that she manipulated a woman to work for her without pay by using threats and intimidation.

She's facing the human trafficking charge for the alleged coercion.

Rogers is also accused of abusing a child younger than 12 years old, then allegedly altered video footage and deleted texts to cover it up.

If you have any information that can help the sheriff's office, you're asked to call 502-348-1840.
