New Albany police investigating after bank robbery, officers searching for alleged suspect

Officers were told that a man had entered the bank and gave the clerk a "threatening note" demanding money.

NEW ALBANY, Ind. — Police are investigating after a bank robbery in southern Indiana Friday afternoon. 

The New Albany Police Department was dispatched to a robbery that happened at the Chase Bank at 120 W. Spring St. around 4 p.m.

Upon arrival, police were told that a man had entered the bank and gave the clerk a "threatening note" demanding money. 

The suspect then left the bank on foot after receiving an undetermined amount of cash.

Police said the suspect is a slim Black man that is over 6 feet tall and possibly 40-55 years old. 

There are no additional details available at this time. 

The New Albany Police Department Criminal Investigation Unit and FBI are investigating.
