LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11)-- LMPD arrested a woman that they said stole prescription drugs from a health and rehabilitation center.

Brandy Hatter, 26, was a nurse at Oaklawn Health and Rehabilitation Center onShelby Station Drive inMiddletown. Police said she was taking painkillers from the facility for her own personal use.

'Several weeks ago LMPD Narcotics Unit was notified by oak lawn Health and Rehabilitation Center about possibly some of their narcotics coming up missing,' Dwight Mitchell, with LMPD, said.

Oaklawn said they noticed discrepancies in medication administration patterns. Police said the licensed practical nurse was stealing painkillers from the center off Shelbyville road.

Mitchell said Hatter was taking hydrocodone and Percocet and that detectives were able to make a speedy arrest.

'She was interviewed and confessed to crimes and thus she was charged,' Mitchell said.

Hatter told detectives she had been stealing for months for her and her boyfriend.

She faces two charges, one for theft of a controlled substance and one for neglect.

Hatter has been fired.
