LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A pedestrian is in critical condition after they were struck by a suspected drunk driver Tuesday night in the Hikes Point neighborhood.
At about 11 p.m., Louisville Metro police responded to a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle in the 2700 block of Breckenridge Lane, according to an LMPD news release.
Officers on scene found a pedestrian laying in the roadway. They were taken to UofL Hospital where authorities say they are suffering from "life-threatening injuries."
The driver of the car that struck the pedestrian remained on scene. He was arrested under suspicion of intoxication, LMPD said.
The incident shut down Breckenridge Lane and nearby I-264. Both roadways are open as of Wednesday morning.
