LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Police are searching for answers after an elderly man was discovered dead in his South Louisville home Sunday morning.
Coroner Jack Arnold identified the victim as 75-year-old Bernard Abell, who resided in the 5800 block of Southland Terrace in the Iroquois neighborhood.
Police originally called the scene a death investigation but later upgraded it to homicide after the victim's injuries were consistent with blunt force trauma after an autopsy.
Abell was pronounced dead just before 10 a.m., according to the coroner.
Police did not give any further details or have no suspects at this time.
