LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The DEA, Jeffersontown Police Department and Louisville Metro Police arrested four people and seized 30 pounds of methamphetamine and 11 pounds of fentanyl pills earlier this week.

Officers arrested 22-year-old Irvin Calencia, 32-year-old Omar Melendez-Solis, 21-year-old Diego Valenzuela and 21-year-old Luis Angel Lopez-Cota.

The Jeffersontown Police Department said they believe all four men are from St. Louis, Missouri, and that these drugs were intended for street distribution in Louisville.

During the investigation, officers said they orchestrated a purchase of meth and fentanyl pills from “suspected drug traffickers.”

The operation happened the morning of June 12, 2024, with the seizure of the drugs.

"The quantity of pills seized in this operation has the potential to kill the population of Louisville several times over," Erek Davodowich, acting special agent in charge of DEA’s Louisville Field Division, said. "I am incredibly proud of the collaborative effort by the DEA, J-Town, and Louisville Metro to prevent these dangerous drugs from entering our community."

"This case demonstrates the impact of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies working together on multi-jurisdictional operations,” Jeffersontown Police Chief Rick Sanders said.
