LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A woman was shot in the hand in her Dosker Manor apartment late Tuesday evening.
According to Louisville Metro Police, officers responded to the complex around 9:30 p.m. on reports of a shooting.
When they arrived, they found the woman with a gunshot wound in her hand; Louisville Metro EMS took her to the hospital.
The Non-Fatal Shooting Squad believes she was struck by "random, untargeted gunfire," because the round went through her front door and hit her.

The Louisville Metro Housing Authority released the following statement regarding the violence at Dosker Manor:
"The Louisville Metro Housing Authority is deeply saddened to announce that an elderly woman was shot on Tuesday evening at Dosker Manor, a public housing facility managed by our organization. Our thoughts are with the individual and her family during this difficult time.
Everyone deserves to live in peace without fear of violence, and we must do everything we can to provide that sense of safety and security for all our residents and staff.
We are actively collaborating with law enforcement authorities to assist in their investigation. Additionally, we are reviewing our security measures and procedures to identify any necessary enhancements to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
We urge anyone with information related to this incident to come forward and assist the authorities in their investigation. Our community stands together against senseless violence, and we remain dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for all our residents at Dosker Manor and every LMHA site."
