3 hospitalized after separate shootings in Shawnee neighborhood, LMPD says

Police said the incidents happened on South 39th Street and West Market Street within two hours of each other.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Gun violence has left three people injured in two separate incidents in the Shawnee neighborhood.

Metro Police said the first incident was reported around 4:45 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of South 39th Street.

Officers went to the location and found a scene but did not find any victims.

About 30 minutes later, a man and woman showed up by private transport to an area hospital with “non-fatal” gunshot wounds.

Investigators determined the two victims were related to the incident on 39th Street.

Two hours later and a few blocks away, officers found a man who was shot multiple times in the 3500 block of West Market Street.

That victim was also transported to an area hospital for treatment. Their condition is not known.
