LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man is facing life-threatening injuries after a shooting in the Russell neighborhood Friday night.
Louisville Metro Police Department responded to report of a shooting in the 2600 block of W. Broadway just before 11:30 p.m. Friday night.
According to the news release, officers discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the head once arriving on scene. Authorities believe the man to be in his 40's.
Officers rendered aid to the victim until EMS was able to make it to the scene. EMS transported the man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police say they believe the shooting happened in the parking lot of Dino's Food Mart on Broadway.
Due to the nature of the man's injuries, LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating.
