LMPD investigating downtown shooting involving multiple vehicles

Police said the shooting that also involved multiple people happened in the 400 block of South Second Street around 7:15 p.m. Sunday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Metro Police are investigating a shooting incident in downtown Louisville.

Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of South Second Street after reports of people shooting guns at each other in the middle of the street just after 7 p.m. Sunday.

When police arrived at the scene, they said evidence indicated multiple people exchanging gunfire in the middle of the block and then leaving the scene in multiple vehicles in various directions.

A spokesperson for the department said no shooting victims had been found “nor have any materialized.”

The gunfire, police said, caused damage to at least three vehicles that weren’t involved.

LMPD have no suspects in this case and are asking anyone with information to come forward or use their Anonymous Tip Line at (502) 574-LMPD or the online Crime Tip Portal.
