LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A 22-year-old nurse at an east Louisville hospital has been arrested for using patients' stolen credit cards, according to police.
Kentucky State Police arrested Lauren Miller, a nurse at Baptist Hospital East, on Monday. She is charged with theft/receipt of two or more stolen credit cards and fraudulent use of a credit card.
According to an arrest warrant, between November 27 and December 7 of last year, Miller received three credit cards that had been reported stolen and used the cards to make purchases totaling more than $1,000.
The victims told the St. Mathews Police Department their cards were stolen while they were patients at Baptist Hospital East's Critical Care Unit. Authorities said the hospital's risk management department matched Miller's work schedule in the unit to the times the victims' cards were reportedly stolen.
Surveillance video from a local food mart where one of the cards was used showed Miller at the store using the stolen credit card, police said. Miller was seen in the drive-thru wearing her hospital scrubs and a jacket she was known to wear.
Witnesses at the store also confirmed Miller was a regular customer and positively identified her from a photo, the warrant said.
Miller will be in court for arraignment on July 16. Her bond is set at $5,000.
A Baptist spokesperson provided the following statement to WHAS11:
