LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Authorities in Nelson County are attempting to locate a man they say is responsible for a stabbing that left a woman injured.
The incident was reported on Oct. 19 after a woman called dispatch saying she had been stabbed and locked herself in a bedroom. The woman had identified 33-year-old Daniel Mendez as the suspect, according to the Nelson County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies were sent to the scene on Camp Branch Road, locating the woman in a bedroom in the back of the house. She was treated for her injuries in an ambulance and then taken to a hospital.
The NCSO said this isn't the first time Mendez had been in trouble with the law. They said in a media release Mendez has an active warrant out for attempted murder and attempted strangulation.
