Man charged after stolen vehicle incident at Portland Kroger

Shoppers were told to stay inside the 35th and Bank location as the scene with LMPD unfolded in the parking lot on Tuesday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A stolen vehicle led to one man’s arrest at a Kroger in the Portland neighborhood.

The incident unfolded inside the parking lot of the store located at 35th and Bank Street around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Metro Police said their violent crime unit located the stolen vehicle while in the area for an investigation. The vehicle had been reported stolen on Monday.

Arrest records state officers conducted a felony traffic stop in the parking lot and the man inside, identified as 44-year-old Bradley Tandy, did not comply with officers and remained in the vehicle.

Police said they continued to talk to Tandy, and he eventually was taken into custody without incident.

LMPD confirms Tandy had an outstanding warrant.

His charges are pending.

LMPD asked Kroger management to keep shoppers inside for their safety.

No one was harmed in the incident.
