HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A man is on the run after police said he pretended to be an officer and then shot and killed a Hopkinsville officer.
According to police, the Hopkinsville officer was in his personal car when James Decoursey, pretending to be an officer, pulled over the off-duty officer and shot and killed him.
Decoursey is considered armed and dangerous. He's 6’1” and 250 lbs. Police believe he is in a stolen white Chevy pick-up with Kentucky license plate number 2070-GH.
If you see Decoursey do not approach him and call the police or 911 immediately.
