LMPD investigating after 2 teenage boys found shot in Newburg

Two teens under the age of 18 were found suffering from gunshot wounds in Louisville on Thursday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Police are investigating after two teenage boys were shot in Louisville's Newburg neighborhood on Thursday.

At about noon, Louisville Metro Police responded to a shooting in the 4300 block of Shady Villa Drive, according to an LMPD news release.

Officers on scene found two teens suffering from gunshot wounds to their legs. Officers rendered first aid until EMS could arrive.

Once on scene, EMS transported both victims to UofL Hospital. Officials say the boys were alert and conscious and they expect them to survive.

Detectives say they are working to determine the relationship between the two victims, if there is any.

LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is handling this investigation. There are currently no known suspects.
