1 dead, 2 injured after shooting in Old Louisville neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One man is dead and two women have serious injuries after a shooting Monday morning in the Old Louisville neighborhood.

At about 9:40 a.m., Louisville Metro police responded to a shooting in the 400 block of West Oak Street, according to an LMPD news release.

Officers found three people, one man and two women, suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers rendered first aid to all victims before EMS transported them to UofL Hospital.

Authorities say the man had critical injuries and the two women had serious injuries. The man died in the hospital shortly after his arrival. Officials expect the two women to survive.

LMPD detectives are working to determine the relationship between the victims, if any. They are also working to learn what led up to the shooting and what the possible motive could be.

LMPD's Homicide Unit is investigating. There are currently no suspects.
