Two men killed, one woman critically injured in Elizabethtown shooting

Police believe the shooting happened in an apartment complex near Patterson Street around 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. — The Elizabethtown Police Department is investigating a shooting that left two men dead and one woman injured Wednesday afternoon.

Around 4:40 p.m. on May 13, officers responded to the 100 block of Patterson Street on a report of three people in a vehicle who had been shot. Officers found the vehicle and the victims inside. Two men inside the vehicle were pronounced dead on the scene and a woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to Chris Denham with EPD.

The men were identified as Shawn Fox, 32, and Buckner Thomas,37. The woman's identity has not been released.

Elizabethtown Police believe the shooting happened at a nearby apartment complex. After the shooting, the woman who was shot was able to drive to a house on Patterson Street to get help.
