LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The man accused of killing a 10-year-old boy following a police chase near Crestwood earlier this year has been indicted by a grand jury.

Tymetrius Walter is charged with murder, first-degree wanton endangerment, receiving stolen property of over $10,000, first-degree assault, marijuana possession and multiple traffic related offenses.

According to police, Walter was leading authorities on a high-speed chase when he crashed into a family car, killing Jake Luxemburger.

During the pursuit, Kentucky State Police discovered Walter's vehicle was reported stolen. Authorities said Walter exited I-71 at exit 14 (Crestwood) and hit a white GMC SUV heading north on KY 329.

Luxemburger, a fifth grader at Kenwood Elementary, and his grandmother were in that SUV. His grandmother was taken to the hospital to recover from her injuries.

The grand jury sent the indictment down on Nov. 17, and Walter was arraigned on Thursday according to court records.

This isn't the first time he's tried to evade police court records show.

Court documents show a judge put Walter on a diversion program in 2022, after an incident from late 2021. How Walter ended up back on the road that Saturday is unclear.
