Clayton Mullins, 54 of Magnolia, Kentucky learned his fate in a federal courtroom on Tuesday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A Kentucky man has been sentenced for his actions during the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol.

Clayton Mullins, 54 of Magnolia, was sentenced on Tuesday to more than two years in prison and three years of supervised release.

According to court documents, Mullins grabbed a Metropolitan Police Department officer by the leg and pulled on it for 20 seconds, ultimately leading to the officer being dragged down the steps of the Capitol.

He also pushed a second officer down the steps of the Capitol, according to the documents.

Mullins was arrested on Feb. 23, 2021 in Mayfield, Kentucky.

In addition to prison time, Mullins was ordered to pay $2,000 in restitution to the architect of the Capitol, more than $30,000 in restitution to the officer he assaulted for medical expenses and more than $49,000 in fines.

Three years since the insurrection, the DOJ says more than 1,265 people have been charged in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol. This also includes hundreds of people charged with assaulting or impeding law enforcement.
