LMPD: Woman found shot in south Louisville park

Investigators are working to learn was a possible motive could've been after a woman was found shot in a Louisville park.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A woman is in the hospital after she was shot early Tuesday morning at a park in south Louisville.

At about 1:40 a.m., Louisville Metro police responded to a shooting in the 10500 block of Cedar Creek Road at McNeely Lake Park, according to an LMPD news release.

Officers on scene found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers and EMS rendered first aid before she was taken to UofL Hospital.

Authorities say the victim was alert and conscious on the way to the hospital and they expect her to survive.

Detectives are working to learn what led up to the shooting and what a possible motive could be.

LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is handling this investigation. There are currently no known suspects.
