LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Police are investigating after a woman showed up at a Louisville hospital with a gunshot wound on Tuesday morning.
At about 2 a.m., Louisville Metro police were notified by UofL Hospital staff that a woman who had been shot was brought to the hospital by private means, according to an LMPD news release.
Authorities say the woman was alert and conscious when she was brought to the hospital with a gunshot wound to her leg.
Investigators believe the woman may have been shot near Shively in the area of 7th Street and Berry Boulevard. LMPD officers were dispatched to the area to look for the scene of the shooting.
LMPD's Non-Fatal Shooting Unit is handling this investigation. There are currently no known suspects.
