1 woman injured, 1 killed in south Louisville shooting

Two women were shot Sunday night. One is expected to survive while the other was pronounced dead at the hospital.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One woman is dead and another is injured after a shooting Sunday night in south Louisville.

At about 11:20 p.m., Louisville Metro police responded to a shooting in the 3100 block of St. Anthony Gardens Drive, according to an LMPD news release.

Officers on scene found two women who had been shot. Both were taken to UofL Hospital where, shortly after their arrival, one woman, later identified as 45-year-old Jamila Jackson, was pronounced dead.

The second woman is expected to survive, LMPD officials say.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is investigating. There are currently no known suspects.
