LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- A former LMPD Officer pleaded guilty to state charges on Tuesday, May 28. He is facing charges relating to the Youth Explorer Program sex abuse scandal.
The Youth Explorer Program helped young people learn about becoming a police officer. The program has since been suspended.
As part of Wood's plea deal, his proposed five-year sentence would run concurrently with his federal sentence.
He is required to complete a sex offender treatment program as well as register as a sex offender.
Wood is one of two former LMPD officers to face charges in a scandal alleging sexual abuse with minors in the program.
Kenneth Betts, the other former LMPD officer, pleaded guilty to federal charges in 2018.
