LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Parents and guardians who have questions about the Jefferson County Public School (JCPS) transportation system will now be able to get their questions answered over the phone.
The school district announced their 485-RIDE and Bus Teller Portal went live on Monday.
JCPS spokesperson Mark Hebert said they opened the hotline two weeks earlier than normal to ensure families have all the information they need before the first day of school. The hotline's office will be staffed 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. though the hours can be adjusted.
The Bus Teller Portal will allow families to see which bus stop is assigned to their child; information will be uploaded and updated daily Hebert said.
JCPS was unsure if the website would go live on Monday because of the CrowdStrike outage that happened in July.
The JCPS freeze period starts on July 22, and no more bus stops will be added until Aug. 12.
The first day of school is Aug. 8.
