LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Christian Academy will be down to two schools starting in fall of 2024.

Superintendent Darin Long said they are shutting down the Southwest campus and consolidating it into the other two schools.

The Southwest campus is on St. Andrews Church Road near Dixie Highway.

The other schools are in New Albany on Academy Drive near Grant Line Road, and eastern Jefferson County on S. English Station Road near Shelbyville Road.

"While the Southwest campus has provided unique opportunities during its 23 years, shifting demographics and resources at our other campuses made this the appropriate decision," Long said.

According to a news release, the southwestern school started in 2000 for kindergarten through second grade at Shively Christian Church. A few years later in 2006, the Southwest campus opened. The school currently serves over 250 grade school students.

Long said they are "doing all we can to ensure the retention of our amazing faculty and staff."

“We are currently expanding our Indiana campus and we will be providing bus transportation from Southwest Louisville each day, which will help facilitate the transition," Long said.

The Christian Academy School System serves over 3,300 students from preschool to high school according to the release.
