Social media reaction: What people are saying about JCPS Board Member Chris Kolb's scathing letter

In an open letter to JCPS leaders, a board member criticized some district principals who openly opposed new start times.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — People are sharing their frustrations on social media after a Jefferson County Public Schools board member criticized some district principals on Wednesday who openly opposed new start times for the 2024-25 school year.

At a meeting Tuesday night, the board approved a plan creating three start times for next year. Some school and district employees have publicly spoken against this decision.

In his letter, Kolb said board decisions are often unpopular with many people.

"There is no way around this and pretending like there is some other magical path the board could choose, as many of you have done, is simply absurd, destructive and not in good faith," he wrote.
