JCPS board swears in newest District 2 board member

Local defense attorney Tricia Lister replaces Chris Kolb, who resigned to teach in the district.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Jefferson County Board of Education swore in its newest member, defense attorney Tricia Lister, during its meeting on Tuesday.

The board selected Lister to replace former District 2 board member Chris Kolb, who resigned to teach in the district.

She is a JCPS graduate and had three children graduate from the district as well.

Lister will represent District 2, which includes St. Matthews and parts of the Highlands.

She said she hopes to bring more transparency and optimism to the board.

"I really believe in public education," Lister said. "I think it outta be the only public education game in town. I want more students at JCPS and everyone in the community buying in and loving our schools. We do so many amazing things and we can do those better if everybody believes in us and everybody becomes a cheerleader for JCPS."

Lister's name will be on the ballot in November for a full term on the board.

She is currently running unopposed after her opponent withdrew from the race.
