LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Jefferson County Public Schools Board of Education is now looking for a new member after chair Diane Porter resigned due to health reasons.
Porter represented District 1, which includes much of West Louisville and downtown.
To be eligible for the position, you must be at least 24 years old, a citizen of Kentucky for at least three years and must be registered to vote within the district. You'll also need to provide documents showing you completed high school or an equivalency.
If you're interested in filling the board's vacancy, you have to fill out an application and submit it to the board by 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 28, 2023.
The board will select someone from the eligible pool of applicants by December 23.
