LOUISVILLE, Ky. — It's full steam ahead on Jefferson County Public School's transportation plan.
Since the 485-RIDE hotline opened two weeks earlier than normal, officials said they have received more than 1800 calls. Of those, 1049 were questions or concerns from parents or guardians, and 94% of them were answered.
“This hotline is not only a place where parents can report concerns about their bus stop assignments or request changes," Rachel Droze, executive administrator of communications and manager of the hotline center, said. "We can also teach families how to use tools like Bus Teller and Edulog Lite that will ensure the first day of school goes smoothly.”

Bus Teller lets parents and guardians find their student's assigned bus stop, and Edulog Lite is the same program JCPS used last year to track bus locations another district spokesperson said.
Additionally, they said more than 300 bus drivers have also started driving their routes already.
As the start of the school year approaches, drivers will start driving full simulation days, meaning they will go through their route and make every stop as if it were real.
Drivers will also be able to time out their route so they can know their trouble spots and how best to prepare for them. District officials said they have asked for feedback on the routes and stops so they can make changes.
The first day of school is Aug. 8.
