LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Tuesday is the last day for parents of students enrolled at 44 schools within Jefferson County Public Schools to register to receive gas stipend money from August and September.
JCPS will send parents who drive their students to school $10 per day for each day the students is in school for families who qualify for free and reduced lunch, and $5 per day for those who don't.
August and September attendance days will be paid in October; October and November attendance days will be paid in December; December, January and February attendance days will be paid in March; and March, April and May attendance days will be paid in June.
If you miss the Oct. 8 deadline, you won't be retroactively paid for previous months they warned.
Only one parent can sign up per eligible student, and if the stipend is getting split, JCPS officials asked that families work out that process together.
You must have already opted in for the stipend payments to receive them.
