Oldham County Board of Education approves one-time stipend for all employees

All current Oldham County Schools employees, as well as those hired by Nov. 1, 2024, will receive the stipend.

OLDHAM COUNTY, Ky. — On Wednesday, the Oldham County Board of Education approved a one-time fringe benefit payment, to help employees during the current job market.

Part-time employees will receive $1,000 while full-time employees will get $2,000, according to an Oldham County Schools (OSC) news release.

Oldham County Schools officials say they were able to offer employees the stipend thanks to conservative budgeting and excess revenues during the fiscal year 2024.

“Along with the record 7% raises approved in the spring, the Board is thrilled to be able to offer these stipends to our hardworking teachers and staff,” Board Chair Suzanne Hundley said. “We will continue to look for ways to increase pay and elevate the experience for the employees of Oldham County Schools.”

Not only does the fringe benefit apply to all current employees, but anyone hired by Nov. 1, 2024 will also receive this payment. OCS officials say all employees will be eligible as long as they are active as of the stipend payout period, which will be in mid-December.

OCS is still hiring ahead of its first day of school on Wednesday, Aug. 14. If you're interested in checking its job openings, click here.
