LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS 11)--Jefferson County Public Schools administrators have named Allyson Vitato as principal of the new Norton Commons Elementary School. She is currently the principal of Breckinridge-Franklin Elementary in JCPS.
"I am very honored and excited for the opportunity and look forward to working with all the NCES families," Vitato tells WHAS11. "I can't wait to meet the students."
Norton Commons Elementary will open to 400 students in Early Childhood through fifth grade at the start of the 2016-2017 school year. Eventually, the district expects to serve about 600 students. It will be the first school in the district to share facilities with a YMCA. It will be connected to the Norton Commons YMCA on Kings Crown Drive in Prospect.
