Preparations underway for installing weapons detection systems at JCPS schools

The units -- designed by Evolv Technology -- will be used to detect concealed weapons, like guns, that students have as they walk into school every morning.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Jefferson County Public Schools is (JCPS) beginning the process of installing weapon detection systems in every middle and high school in the district.

In a letter sent home to families, the district explained how the new system will work.
