LIST | Drive-thru COVID-19 test sites in Louisville

Although officials say the omicron variant's surge is starting to decline, some Louisville communities still need accessible testing.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Even as Kentucky COVID cases drop, health experts want Kentuckians to continue getting tested. Free rapid and PCR tests will be offered through partnerships with the Louisville Department of Public Health & Wellness (LMPHW), local churches, organizations and testing providers.

The health department announced these new sites on Friday, February 10. Testing is free at all sites, but individuals are encouraged to bring ID and insurance cards.

Shawnee – The Hope Buss | Testing provider Coastal Biotech
Where: Shawnee Presbyterian Church, 101 S. 44th St.
When: Feb. 22 and 27, from 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Shawnee – Black Lives Matter | Testing provider – Nomi Health
Where: 3900 West Broadway
When: Starting Feb. 21, Monday – Friday, from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Russell  | Testing provider – Communities in Health
Where: Louisville Free Public Library (Western Branch), 604 South 10th St.
When: Feb. 18, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Beechmont | Testing provider – Communities in Health
Where: Louisville Free Public Library (Iroquois Branch), 601 Woodlawn Ave.
When: Feb. 17, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Newburg | Testing provider – Homeland
Where: Newburg Church of Christ, 4700 E. Indian Trail
When: Every 2nd and 4th Monday, from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Outer Loop | Testing provider – Communities in Health
Where: Buddha Blessed Temple, 7748 3rd Street Rd.
When: Every Sunday, Wednesday and Friday through– March 30, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Ongoing Test sites:

Pearl Diagnostic Laboratory and Galen College of Nursing are teaming up for a testing center at 707 South Third Street in downtown Louisville.

The site will offer nasal, oral, and the Yale School of Public Health SalivaDirect PCR tests. Those who are tested at that site should receive their results within 24 to 48-hours.

The testing will be offered on a walk-in basis Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will close from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch.

St. Stephen will offer drive-thru testing Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The church is located at 1018 South 15th Street.

Shively City Hall’s testing will be indoors and offered from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. offering tests every Tuesday and Friday throughout February. They are located at 3920 Dixie Highway.

You will have to bring a photo ID for those wanting a test. Appointments or proof of insurance is not required for the Metro Public Health and Wellness sites.
