LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Urban League said appointments for its West Louisville COVID-19 testing site were filled May 13.
The site hosted alongside Norton Healthcare offers COVID-19 tests for Louisville Urban League clients who are high-risk or want to be tested. While appointments were filled, they are allowing walk-ups in addition to drive-thru testing.
“Building on our partnership with Louisville Urban League for the Norton Sports Health Athletics & Learning Complex to help provide testing in this area of the community is important to us," Norton Healthcare CEO Russ Cox said. "It’s more important than ever that we continue to help our community be healthy."
Louisville Urban League CEO Sadiqa Reynolds said they are offering walk-up testing to meet the need of those without access to cars.
Reynolds said they have improved testing capabilities since the last site, allowing them to test the same amount of people in five hours that previously took seven to eight. The last time they hosted a testing site, 350 registered. Now, 500 have registered for a test. Results will be available between two and four days.
Norton said they will be doing more community screenings over the next few weeks. Norton patients can find more information on their website.
