LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Several Louisville hospitals are working to resolve issues caused by a global IT outage, which is causing disruptions to their normal operations.
The outage has been traced back to a cybersecurity company called CrowdStrike, which provides anti-cyberattack services to Microsoft and other large companies.
Baptist Health Louisville said the disruption has impacted its ability to sustain normal operations.
"Our number one priority is ensuring our patients continue to receive the highest-level of care as this incident is investigated and resolved," a spokesperson said in a statement. "We have cancelled some procedures while we work to resolve the issue."
Any Baptist Health patients impacted by the disruption will be notified.
According to a UofL Health spokesperson, all patient appointments remain on schedule, but it is also working to resolve disruptions caused by the Crowdstrike outage.
UofL Health said, at this time, all patient care -- including access to emergency care, trauma and surgeries -- remains available. If patients have any questions, they are urged to contact the location handling their appointment.

Norton Healthcare said a southern Indiana hospital, Norton Clark, began experiencing computer access issues overnight Thursday due to the software update causing issues with Crowdstrike.
The hospital's IT team has been working to restore all systems, however a "limited number" of nonemergent morning procedures had to be rescheduled. Norton Clark remains operational though, with its ER still accepting walk-in patients and physician offices still open.
"Some employees may experience device connectivity issues while the situation is being resolved," a spokesperson said. "Select vendor applications used throughout Norton Healthcare also have experienced service disruption as these vendor products are supported by CrowdStrike."
