Downtown museum hosts forum for new Norton West Louisville Hospital

CEO Russ Coz and Chief Administrative Officer Corenza Townsend addressed various questions related to the services, the employees and the facility itself.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Community members got their chance to ask questions and share ideas on Tuesday as Norton Healthcare prepares to open its Norton West Louisville Hospital.

It was a packed room at the Frazier History Museum for the forum. It was focused on the new hospital being built at 28th and Broadway.

CEO Russ Coz and Chief Administrative Officer Corenza Townsend addressed various questions related to services, the facility itself, and if the employees will reflect the community.

"We want the best fit," she said. "We will have people that work and live in the community, but the priority is good patient care and great human interactions. That's the priority and that's what we're going for first."

Townsend said they plan to continue gathering feedback until the hospital's opening in November. It will be the first hospital built in the area in 150 years.

Features inside the hospital will include a community room, artwork that celebrates west Louisville and a central check-in area so patients feel a sense of comfort when they walk through the doors.
