LOUISVILLE, Ky. — It's National Blood Shortage Month, at a time when the Kentucky Blood Center says its facing a shortage.
There's a critical need for four blood types in particular: O-, A-, AB-, and AB+. According to officials, there is less than a day's supply of each available to local hospitals.
While donations improved last year, KBC says they still haven't returned to pre-pandemic levels.
As a way of saying "thank you," donors at all eight KBC locations will receive a free hoodie through Jan. 20.
