LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- Norton Children's Hospital added a new member to its transport fleet on Tuesday, a $12 million helicopter!
The Airbus EC145 will transport critically-ill patients from communities throughout Kentuckiana to Norton Children's Hospital.
The chopper is customized for patient care and fully stocked with the latest devices and equipment to care for the most complex medical cases.
Its onboard instruments allow it to fly in poor visibility, even when traditional emergency helicopters can't.
It's expected to make up to 300 runs a year.
