LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A train derailed in Rockcastle County on Wednesday, and Gov. Andy Beshear has declared a state of emergency because of it.
CSX confirmed at least 16 cars were involved, including two carrying sulfur, which spilled around 2:55 p.m.
According to a news release, the judge executive also declared a state of emergency for the county, and the governor's executive order ensured resources like Kentucky Emergency Management and the Kentucky National Guard could be sent to the community.
