Kentucky Young Democrats President says she's been harassed by Louisville Rep. Grossberg in statement on social media

Allison Wiseman says she is one of the many alleged victims of Rep. Daniel Grossberg who accuse him of harassment.

FRANKFORT, Ky. — "Ugh, he's creepy, be careful."

This is what President of the Young Democrats, Allison Wiseman said she told a friend about Louisville Rep. Daniel Grossberg at an event they attended.

In a statement on X, formerly Twitter, Wiseman accuses Grossberg of harassment. She is one of many other alleged victims accusing the state representative. Wiseman reached out to WHAS11 and gave express permission to publish her statements.

Wiseman said she told a friend to be careful of Grossberg because of the creepy things he's said to her and other women in the political space over the past few years.

On Friday, Wiseman said Grossberg needs to resign.

In Wiseman's statement she said her heart fell to her stomach after seeing an article published by the Lexington Herald-Leader about Grossberg sending text messages to women calling them "beautiful."

"I, too, had been called beautiful by him. I didn't want to tell my story because I was scared," Wiseman said.

She said Grossberg has previously referred to her as "beautiful, beautiful Allison."

Wiseman said she felt compelled to share her story after the Kentucky Young Democrats Executive Board held an emergency meeting to discuss Grossberg's allegations when they were first being widely reported.

During the meeting, several board members shared their own stories and those of other members about the representatives actions.

Wiseman said she also received several phone calls, direct messages and texts from many others about Grossberg's inappropriate actions.

She said these messages encouraged her to speak up.

"As the leader of an organization that advocates for young people in politics, I couldn't stay silent while our members, along with myself, were hurting," Wiseman said.

She contacted the Herald-Leader and went on record in an article from on Aug, 20, under the alias "Woman C," about her interactions with Grossberg.

"I cannot stress how I wish to not be unsolicitedly told (multiple times) 'I love you' by a married man almost twice my age," Wiseman said. "I cannot stress how I wish not to be told 'there's something about those Ballard girls' by a married man almost twice my age, whose wife teaches at the high school I graduated from."

Citing another moment, Wiseman said Grossberg once told her "my crush on you just went to an 11."

Wiseman said from then on she made an effort to avoid Grossberg at public events and warned other women to do the same.

"When I saw him at Governor Beshear's inauguration gala, my heart fell to my stomach. I made my friends swear to me they wouldn't let him get near me," Wiseman said.

Gov. Andy Beshear also called for Grossberg's resignation during a news conference Friday morning.

"I've previously said I think he should seriously consider whether he should be a state representative," Beshear said. "I just want to be clear and unequivocal, this conduct is wrong."

KDP Chair Colmon Elridge released the following statement on Representative Daniel Grossberg.

“Every individual deserves to be held accountable for their own actions — particularly those who represent Kentuckians in the halls of our Capitol. Representative Grossberg has repeatedly proven that he is unfit to serve and must resign from office.”
