Nelson County man dead after tractor hits sinkhole

The sheriff's department said Mike Hobbs was ejected from his tractor when he hit a sinkhole while farming.

BARDSTOWN, Ky. — A Nelson County man died after hitting a sinkhole while farming Monday night.

The Nelson County Sheriff's Department confirmed 60-year-old Mike Hobbs was ejected from his tractor when he hit a sinkhole at a farm on 6100 Springfield Road.

He was found unresponsive by a farm hand, who practiced CPR on him until the NCSD arrived.

The coroner was called, where he pronounced him dead at the farm.
