10th annual 'Buy Local Fair' highlights Louisville businesses

The Buy Local Fair brought 8,000 people together in celebration of local business.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- More than 200 businesses gathered at Louisville Water Tower Park to "Keep Louisville Weird", as the Louisville Independent Business Alliance hosted its 10th annual Buy Local Fair on May 20.

The fair featured booths of everything from guitars and ukuleles to cooking and cocktail contests.

It's estimated that more than 8,000 people attended the festival to get a first-hand experience of many businesses they may not have even heard of before.

"Louisville is very authentic," said Ashley Parker, President of LIBA. "Louisville loves to keep it weird. Lousiville loves to be different. Louisville embraces their own. We really like the culture we've created with so many of our independent businesses and people take a lot of pride in that."
