2 injured after vehicle crashes into downtown Louisville building

LMPD said a vehicle ran a red light which struck another vehicle, causing it to hit the building at South Brook and East Market streets on Tuesday.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Two people have been injured after a car crashed into a downtown Louisville building.

Metro Police’s First Division officers responded to the intersection at South Brook and East Market streets around 10:20 a.m. Tuesday.

According to LMPD’s initial investigation, they say a gray Buick ran a red light which struck another vehicle, and then hit the Life Storage building.

The impact of the crash left the building with minor damage.

LMPD said a pole with walk signals was also damaged.

The two victims reportedly have non-life-threatening injuries, and it is unclear if they were transported to the hospital.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
