2 men killed in head-on crash in rural eastern Jefferson County

The crash happened near Taylorsville Lake Road. Both drivers were killed.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Two people are dead following a head-on collision in a rural part of eastern Jefferson County.

Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Dwight Mitchell said the crash happened Tuesday around 12:30 p.m. in the 5800 block of Taylorsville Lake Road. That's near the borders of Shelby and Spencer counties.

According to LMPD, a preliminary investigation found that one of the vehicles crossed into the center lane hitting the second vehicle head-on.

James Via, 48, and Levi Grant, 30, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to officials. 

LMPD's Traffic Unit is investigating the crash.
